What meta tags do I actually need?
At a minimum, a title tag and a meta description. Add Open Graph tags (og:title, og:description, og:image) so your links look right when shared on social and chat apps. Skip the old meta keywords tag — Google ignores it.
How long should the title and meta description be?
Keep the title under about 60 characters and the description under about 155, or Google truncates them in results. This tool counts characters as you type and flags when you go over.
Does the meta keywords tag still help SEO?
No. Google has ignored it for over a decade. Put your effort into a clear title, a useful description, and good page content instead.
Will these tags improve my Google ranking?
Not directly — but a sharp title and description earn more clicks from search, and Open Graph tags control how your link looks when shared. Both bring more traffic. Page content is still the main ranking factor.
Where do I paste the generated tags?
Inside the <head> of your page, before the closing </head>. If you build with SnapStatic, the site settings add these for you.
Do you collect or store what I enter?
No. Your tags are generated entirely in your browser — nothing you type is sent to or stored on our servers, and there is no signup. The only exception is the optional Fetch button, which sends the URL you enter to our server to read that page's existing tags; we use it only to answer the request and don't store it. Analytics are anonymous, cookieless page-view counts only.
